Bluegrass Month is in full swing at The Abbey Bar at Appalachian Brewing Company.

Last week we saw a fine offering of goodness from the traditional (River Town Revival) to the obscure (Dick Butt Kiss and The Tightends) to the national (Hot Buttered Rum) and this weekend continues the varied schedule from all corners of the Bluegrass spectrum-

Friday night brings Denver, Colorado’s Oakhurst- blending a mesmerizing and foot-stomping mix of rock and roll, bluegrass and rockabilly, they’ve been delighting audiences coast-to-coast for sevaral years. Showtime at 10PM no cover.

And Saturday brings WXPN darlings Perkasie from Lancaster, PA. “Easy comparisons would be Woody Guthrie, Simon and Garfunkel, or Bright Eyes’ countrified Cassadaga, but the natural chemistry and playfulness among the band members foster a comforting aura that’s hard to pre-manufacture.”-Impose
