I was talking with an aquaintence of Corky Goldstein of City Council's economic team & he suggested to Corky to bring back the concerts to City Island. He and my friend did seperate research on why the concerts were really halted. It appears that the wealthy blue hairs back in the 1980's funded the Amusement Tax to only allow you, the promoter, to earn a whopping $30.00 per show!!! What I don't understand is that if Mayor Reed wanted to make Harrisburg into some kind of cultural mecca for the "arts" (more specific: Musuems), why was the "art" of music punished by non-residents? Smells bad, doesn't it? With the self-inflicted liability of the incinerator on their hands, one would think that repealling the "amusement tax", is a no brainer. But maybe that is what the citizens of Harrisburg have on their hands: no brains in charge at a critical juncture. Thanks.
