You Won’t Find This At Club Shows

Something I haven’t written much about on this site is the music industry side of things.

Sure, I pitch shows and bands here pretty regularly, but with the exception of the whole Captain Janks debacle (and that doesn’t really even count for music industry info), I haven’t spent much time focusing on the knowledge of the industry that I’ve gained.

And it’s high time to start.

The veritable Bob Lefsetz was recently interviewed by News Channel 5 in Nashville regarding the absurdity of the sale of concert tickets to major arena and theater shows. And what News Channel 5 discovered is that almost all major concert ticket sales are laden with deceptive offers and are chock full of flim-flam.

Certainly, some of us have been well aware of this for quite some time. But if you weren’t hip to it, consider yourself hipped.

Remember, folks- these are arena shows. Big stadium events. And every single show is exactly the same. You won’t find this in the clubs.

The ten dollar ticket DOES still exist. And the industry is alive and well.
