Justice FAIL
Chalk up one more incident to the “this whole system is fucked” list.
Brandon Piekarsky, 17, and Derrick Donchak, 19 of Shenandoah beat a Mexican man to death several months ago.
While they were kicking and beating him, they were yelling racial eptihets.
After the man was knocked unconscious, they continued to kick and beat him.
The autopsy said it was a kick to the head that took the mans life.
And on Friday, an all-white jury all but acquitted the two teens. (Oh, by the way? The two teens were drunk when the beating occurred.)
Both were convicted of simple assault.
A man– a father, a brother, a son…was beaten to death while sitting in the park with his girlfriend. Two white kids from coal-country PA were drunk and cocky leaving a party when they crossed paths.
And those two kids- two white kids are free to go about their lives.
While a Mexican family grieves.
Where is the justice in this country?
Does it exist anymore?
My thoughts say “no”.
I honestly got a stomach ache when I saw that they had been acquitted. Unfortunately, trial by jury is the best method we have available and sometimes it fails. Miserably in this case.
