Just saw all the council members last night, and I agree with almost everything you said… except that I do think there might be something to Kelly Summerford… I thought he gave thoughtful answers, maybe it just depends on what is discussed. I videotaped the event at the SAHHRA meeting (albeit shakily with a handheld). Once I get it converted, I’ll try to make it accessible, one way or another.

By the way, I like your choice in Papenfuse. I even broke down and let his people put up a sign in my yard, something I rarely do.

Maybe Eugenia Smith should open up a soul food restaurant or a Beauty shop instead of running for city council. So that she and her bigoted friends will not have to support the Koreans they hate so much.

just a few corrections,: hairston-green was not another ousted schoolboard member; pat stringer is not another vera white, pat would not shuffle as much as vera after all when she served on council, she was the only council member who voted against the refinancing of the incinerator (rick house council) and i don’t agree that linda had a kill whitey delivery, perhaps that description would have more credibility if you gave an example of what was said that gave you that interpretation. and the fact that the majority of residents may be minority in your view, the issues can be the same as in a place where the minorities are not the majority. (i.e. south africa) not saying hbg is south africa but mere majority in numbers does not elimiante historical racism and its affects.
there are many (minority and majority) who do not like Linda and i am not suggesting that this is not warranted by her actions but i wonder if her strong delivery criticism is genuine or sexist. when a woman is strong and hold strong convictions, we get these surface criticisms.
in any event, i appreciate the fact that you are reporting this stuff.
