Just got word that about fifteen minutes ago, a joint team of Federal and State agencies raided Harrisburg City Hall.
Like a scene from an action movie, dozens of black Crown Victoria’s, armed and armored agents and drug dogs swarmed the building near Second and Market streets. Witnesses say two helicopters were hovering overhead.
Preliminary reports indicate the focus of the raid was on the office of Mayor Steven Reed, tax enforcement officer Steven Ketterer and Parks and Rec administrator Chuck Shulz.
“Chuck Shulz has been doing such a horrible job at booking the city’s entertainment, we just had to include him in this investigation. I mean, really…the guy is sixty years old. What business does he have booking hundreds of bands for three festivals?” said an enforcement officer who asked not to be named.
The connection at the tax office appears to be due to the fact that Steve Ketterer uses collection-agency-type-tecniques to intimidate, harass and scare small businesses into paying legally-questionable taxes.
A federal agent had this to say “We got a report from a guy…little guy…local guy who’s just trying to do a good thing in the city…that this Ketterer character has been, essentially, lying to him and other promoters in the city about his reach. One report said that [Ketterer] actually told a constituent that a promoter was under investigation and a larceny case was being built against him…which was actually, total bullshit.”
Additionally, when asked about the scope of the Reed office raid, a DEA agent from Quantico, VA said “Oh, we don’t know anything about the artifacts. We just heard that he was harvesting and storing all of the good weed in the city. Driving up prices. It’s sort of an anti-trust thing.”
We’ll post more details as they come available.
