Big Couple Of Weeks Coming Up (This Is Not An Inauguration Post)
Big week coming up- and it’s an early one.
First things first- Monday night, I get sworn into the IATSE Union. (Might not mean much to you, but I had to include it to round out the weekly roundup.)
Wednesday 1.21- Tweetup moves to Wednesday
This one time? At Tweetup?
No, but seriously. Since the Change is coming on Tuesday, we figured we’d follow suit and move the Third Thursday bloggers bash/Tweetups to Wednesday’s so we could have some more space and without the sweet lullaby’s of Open Mic night serenading us at exactly 9pm Thursdays..which leads us to…
Thursday 1.22- No open mic this week.
So, yeah. There’s no open mic this week. Private party has the room booked all night.
Friday 1.23- MonkeyLion and Roundtable Presents- The Davisson Brothers at ABC.
They’re one part bluegrass, one part southern rock and served with a big slice-uh-good-ole-cunnry. Show starts at 10, doors at 9. Eight bucks advance, ten at the door.
Saturday 1.24- Tom Hamilton’s American Babies were supposed to be playing. But their drummer (not Joe Russo) got into a barfight and busted his hand. So Babies aren’t going to make it this week. So back to Plan-A and it’s now an evening with Wissahocken Chicken Shack.
It’s creeping love grass. And it’s no cover. And Tom Hamilton might be playing solo before them.
Tuesday 1.27- Moviate.org welcomes Frightened Rabbit to The Abbey Bar.
Frightened Rabbit seem to be at the place that Vampire Weekend were about two years ago. Or Fleet Foxes were eight months ago. Or The Hold Steady were three years ago. Which, essentially, means they’re about to fucking explode. Caleb & Co. set the show up. The Abbey Bar at ABC made it no cover. And it’ll be over by midnight. (Yeah, I know. It’s a Tuesday. And you might not have heard of these guys yet. But leading up to our show next Tuesday, they’re doing SOLD OUT shows at The Bowery Ballroom (NYC), Great Scott in Massachusets, Rock and Roll Hotel in DC, and not one, but TWO sold out shows in Chicago.
So yeah, schedule a sick day Wednesday the 28th and come see Frightened Rabbit on the 27th.

As posted on American Babies site:
Hey Hey!
Since the acoustic show last weekend with the Wood Brothers went so well, Tommy will be playing another one THIS SATURDAY at the APPALACHIAN BREWING COMPANY in HARRISBURG, PA.
The headlining band is another Philly act, Wissahickon Chicken Shack. Should be a good one!!
………..
See ya there!
-Babies.

Sorry about that, I meant to say it was from their Myspace site.
