So I wrote this post the other day. It was mostly just a “hey, I just got back to Harrisburg and this is the shit I gotta come home to?” post.
Tonight- just ten minutes ago- I get this email:

Jersey Mike,We here at Harrisburg City Cab got wind of your blog and we were very saddened to hear the events upon your coming home. We at Harrisburg City Cab do take pride in our Customer Service and sincerely apologize for this drivers unprofessional behavior. We would like to extend our apology to you again and extend and invitation to you to receive 3 free local rides from our company. Please call (717)554-7401. This is my direct extension. Again please accept our apology and your next ride is on us.
Also there are numbers located on the back and sides of all taxi’s these numbers help us to identify drivers when complaints are filed.

Very cool!
Well, that’s good customer service. Of course it helps that you have a blog and someone at the cab company heard of your complaint. And they probably know that many people who use their cabs read your blog.
Gotta keep the customers happy. Because if you don’t… the competition will.
Can one of the free rides be to NY and back
He might not be happy that you’ve published his direct line…
@yosh- I wasn’t happy that the driver acted like we were at a train station in Mexico driving a gypsy cab.
Is Harrisburg City Cab Corp. the one with the orange cars? I called whoever has the orange cars back in Sept. (b/c their phone number is the only one I can remember-good marketing with the orange), and the driver was actually decent. I got a ride from Uptown (2200 block) to Faulkner Mazda on Paxton street, because I was getting my car out of the shop. He told me that he was “surprised” the dispatcher gave him an order “with such a big fare” even though I don’t think it was more than $7 dollars. Apparently, whoever this woman is that is the dispatcher gives the prime orders to whoever she likes and the scraps to whoever doesn’t “kiss her butt.” Harrisburg is such a small city, so I can imagine how that must be for “honest” cabbies like the one I got.
