The headline should have read “About three weeks ago”

I really hate to toot my own horn, but once again, I’ve scooped The Patriot.

About three weeks ago, I posted a video which I found on YouTube here. (Click “Links” directly below the video and you’ll see around three hundred and fifty clicks from my site)
It was the video of the nine kids scrapping in front of John Harris High School.

Well, those kids have apparently been expelled-according to an article which ran yesterday on PennLive and in today’s print edition of the paper - nearly three weeks after my post.

Technology is changing and advancing at breakneck speeds- but why does the old media insist on dragging its feet?

Daniel Victor, a writer for the Patriot News and independent Blogger, writes on his blog “People treat information sources like a democracy, and page views are the votes. The mindset that all blogs are created equal is insulting — and it’s shared by a lot of people in journalism. It’s that attitude that prevents journalists from seeing the value in blogs, and why we need to understand them to see why we’re losing so many votes.”

And I couldn’t agree with him more.

Will the day ever come that print journalists shake out the cobwebs and embrace independent media rather than snuff it and attempt to throw it by the wayside?

The way things look, probably not.

Sure, I could go through my four hundred and something entries on this site and list each time that something has appeared here (or on a plethora of other citizen journalist sites) and then a day or three later appeared in the pages of The Patriot News (or any other mainstream print newspaper), but I just don’t have the time.

I’m too busy looking forward-

While print media continues to shrivel up in the past.

If it makes you feel any better, I was yelling at my TV that I knew about it about a month ago from you.

It does sort of make me feel better.

But what would REALLY make me feel better is if the PN would start acknowledging our contributions to local media.
