Season’s Over
The holiday season appears to be officially over.
I’ll admit that, through no doing of my own, I was dragged to more than one Wal-Mart over the past couple of months in anticipation of the looming holiday season.
I, however, didn’t spend a single penny while on these trips- I was merely a spectator.
This year, unlike years past, I was able to witness the Wal-Mart Savings Flower in full, glorious bloom.
But unlike the slow, steady build of decor, lights, music and shiny red and gold bows indicating that it’s time to shop; the END of the season came much quicker.
December 26th, 31 Flavors and I needed to make a trip to the Wal-Mart on 322 between Harrisburg and Hershey- and upon pulling into the parking lot, we were swiftly informed that as of 11:59PM on December 24th, our nations largest retailer packs up it’s cheer and gets back to it’s regular business.
No more holiday music, no more cheerful displays, no more santa-hat wearing greeters.
Just this sorry-ass looking inflatable display–half deflated and laying in a puddle like a victim of an Allison Hill Drive By.
Happy Holidays.

I saw this exact very sorry excuse for retail last Friday. I had to laugh and just thought, “Wow, Christmas is truly over!”. And who the hell would buy this???
BTW, i had to by blank dvd’s. Otherwise, you won’t find me in a WalMart. Now Target…
