Yeah, what kind of response was that? They did not address the issue at all!
Huh-What? How do you consider the P-N piece you linked a “schoolyard-playground-bickering response?”
“Today, the local blogosphere is unhappy with the ol’ Patriot-News for the red bagged Patriot Pluses that are apparently littering Midtown Harrisburg”
I’m no P-N apologist by any means, but isn’t that piece an accurate portrayal of what you all have said? Was Josh misquoted? I mean, they linked to your blog criticizing them. It’s not like they took pot shots at you or anything.
I guess you could take umbrage at the ” ol’ ” and the “apparently”, but it looks more like you’re just trying to create a controversy around this “response.”
Your underlying points are valid. Don’t let them get lost in faux controversy
First off, I like the P-N. They’re a good newspaper. I generally find them worth my hard-earned $.50.
Second, I’m glad Josh stood up and said something about this. Between this and the stupid Penny Shopper Saver Clipper or whatever the fark it’s called these days, I get a not insignificant amount of plastic deposited in my driveway on a regular basis. Hi-five to Josh, hi-five to you Mike, and a “boo” to the P-N for completely failing to address the issue at all.
I’ll venture so far as to say that the P-N’s response makes it appear that they’re just mocking the complainers.
