A few questions I’d ask the Mayor if given the opportunity-

The title of the blog says it all- but I’m often left perplexed when thinking about a few items that I see daily in our city-

So, here are a few questions I’d ask Mayor Reed if I had the opportunity-

1. Considering City Hall is probably the last government building in America to allow smoking indoors, why are there no ashtrays in front of it?

2. Why is the glass ceiling inside City Hall leaking and when will those leaks be fixed?

3. Why do our streets not get plowed when it snows in the winter?

4. Why does the city charge customers a hundred dollars ($100.00) to turn on water service at a residence? (I ask this because it seems somewhat unfair to charge someone that much money for a city employee to pull up to the curb and, literally, turn a ratchet a half turn…not to mention- a water bill isn’t exactly like not paying your cable bill or cell phone bill on time…if you must put off something like water, things must be pretty bad- and adding insult to injury, the city charging a hundred dollar reconnect fee seems borderline criminal.)

5. Why aren’t there more trashcans in the city? Some blocks seem to have one every twenty feet- yet other streets can go blocks and blocks with nary a trash can in sight.

6. Why is crime data being withheld from the Public Safety Chair of City Council after repeated requests for access to said data?

7. Why is WHBG Channel 20 so tough to get access to?

8. How is it that a city like Bethlehem can have such a kick ass music fest and all we get is…well…lame?

9. Why are primary campaign signs for the ‘Reed Team’ still up?

10. Why don’t you attend more City Council meetings? (I’m pretty sure that I’ve been to more City Council meetings this year than The Mayor).
