Apparently, a large consensus of people over on the good ole’ PennLive forums have their collective bible thumping panties in a bunch over this weekends PrideFest in Harrisburg.
Why can’t people just ‘live and let live’?
Too bad all those people up in arms about this weren’t so vehement about the stupid Americans With Disabilities 2nd Street Shutdown yesterday afternoon.
Not only do they get all the good parking places but now they’re going to snarl midday traffic in downtown too?
(I’m totally kidding and have nothing against Americans With Disabilities. ; but frankly, I found it particularly offensive that I had to divert my way off of I-83 just for them. At least PrideFest happens in the park. Get your priorities straight, people.)
Here’s the lineup for this weekends festivities along the riverfront across from Harrisburg Hospital-

I’ll be up there actually, with a bunch of my ladies…
Woo Woo- I’ll rock my “altered” RTP shirt just for show
A year or two ago one of my friends played this show… I had a good time with the people on the other side of the fence yelling at me….
I didn’t yell back but I did walk ever so slowly in their direction with the intent to harm them….
it was so not ghey of me…..
Hope they have good weather!
It’s because some people’s worldview doesn’t allow them to “live and let live” when it comes to an issue they believe is diametrically opposed to upright morality. You may not agree with their worldview, but why disdain them for it? When it comes to how you view the “bible thumpers,” why can’t you just “live and let live?”
Also, it’s a little hard to ignore these people when they are staging a city-wide festival celebrating their lifestyle. Interestingly, I have written a riveting article on that very topic on my own Harrisburg weblog. Do check it out!
