More Garbage from THA

Literally.

The Harrisburg Authority decided yesterday to QUADRUPLE our trash removal fees monthly.

The move, which has been approved by a challenged THA now gets moved to the city for implementation.

In true we-don’t-care-much-about-what-is-good-for-the-residents fashion, Fred Clark and the “Authority” moved to increase fees from $4.83 per month to $19.32 per month. (Source)

The disposal rate is the portion of a city resident’s monthly trash bill that is paid directly to the authority for city trash deposited at the incinerator. That would increase a resident’s monthly trash bill from the current $22.66 to $37.15, nearly a 64 percent increase.

You see, they’re not even trying to be SUBTLE with moves like this.

Similar to the water rate increase last fall , it appears as if The Harrisburg Authority will do virtually ANYTHING in it’s power to take as much as they possibly can from us.

    And the band played on…

Really, how long is it going to take before people really start getting mad? At this point I think they are raising taxes and fees just to see how much they can get away with…

I pay about $40 per quarter in Camp Hill.

They are counting on issue exhaustion – we’ll all get tired of hearing about the debt, the poor results, the corruption, the increases – and shut up. They may be right – people can only take so much bad news before they accept it as the status quo.

Expect more revelations and more increases.
