Miller Reports: Sens Bigger Losers Than Previously Thought
Tonights Harrisburg City Council Meeting was chock full of good surprises- the first being the announcement of Randy King’s Assistant To The Mayor Successor- young buck named Matthew Coulter-
Following the announcement and given the opportunity to introduce himself to Council, Coulter politely declined advising Council that he’d introduce himself to them individually following the meeting.
Not a great start for someone who’s supposed to be a public spokesman.
But the BOMBSHELL of the night had to be Dan Miller’s report on the fiscal status of the Harrisburg Senators-
Miller briefed Council and the audience on past statements made by Mayor Steven Reed implicating that the Harrisburg Senators franchise operated with a two hundred thousand dollar annual profit-
Miller also informed Council that his requests for audited reports of the Harrisburg Senators financial records were repeatedly ignored and he was unable to obtain accurate records about the ball club-
He went on to explain that there are two entities which need to be reviewed- the first being the Harrisburg Senators Fund- which records are readily available for (and are also the records which show profits in the two hundred thousand dollar range) and the second being the Harrisburg Civic Baseball Club, Inc- of which ONE audited record statement was available-
The Audited Record of the Harrisburg Baseball Club, Inc. from 2005 was was reported by Mayor Reed to have had a profit of two hundred thirty one thousand dollars.
Dan Millers findings, however, glaringly revealed a NET LOSS of two hundred forty nine thousand dollars when reviewing the audited reports.
He continued his presentation by estimating (based on the information available to him) that the Harrisburg Senators had lost over seven million dollars over the course of ten years.
Paraphrasing a public comment by the one and only Tattoo Jim- Miller really hit one out of the park with his findings.

Scha-wing! And so it begins…
