Number of registered “independent” voters in Harrisburg

After a phone call to the Dauphin County Elections and Voter Registration office, the lovely ‘Karen’ informed that there are currently three hundred eighty eight voters in the city whom are registered ‘independent’.
With the low voter turnout anticipated, I’m sure that those three hundred eighty eight citizens of this city could make a difference in today’s primaries.

But we wont’ know that this year.

I can’t WAIT to see these results.

I think I spoke with the lovely ‘Karen’ this morning, too. She was rude and quite dismissive of my complaint and directly contradicted what the Department of State told me.

Now you see why it’s important for the independents to switch for the primaries – just a couple of votes can make a big difference. Expect the Reed Team to go over every vote to see which can be tossed out.

Independents can’t affect primaries at all. That’s the very nature of being independent.
The primaries are for the individual parties to vote for who they want their candidates to be.

I guess you could, as Anniken suggests, switch to Democrat for the primaries, and then switch to Independent for the general election. But in the general election you can vote for whomever you want, no matter what your party is, so you might as well stay a Democrat.
