My new favorite music player

Pandora.

Have you tried this yet?

It’s basically like listening to music you like and then having someone of superior music knowledge suggest music similar to that to listen to.

Kind of like the iTunes “if you like this, then try this” thing; but it doesn’t cost a dollar a song.

Granted, you can’t buy the music direct from the site, but it’s still pretty fucking cool.

And the best part is that there’s nothing to download. It’s essentially a customizeable, streaming media player without commercials.

For example: I typed in The Beastie Boys.
Pandora continued to play In 3′s from Check Your Head; followed by Soul Power by Busey’s Soulblenders, She’s A Woman by Jeff Beck, Swamp Chomp by Diplomats of Solid Sound and See Right Thru You by a pretty badass band called Bolt Upright.

Then I tried Medeski, Martin and Wood and got Queen Bee by MMW; followed by Ain’t It Funky Now by Grant Green, Cat Walk by Steve Smith, and Splat by the James Taylor Quartet.

My favorite part of all of the recent advances of the Internet is the plethora of music thats accessible with the click of the mouse. And Pandora is my new favorite addiction.
